Another question that you should ask yourself is did DKC:R sell consoles or did it depend on the existing userbase ? 

Consider the following, the fact that the WII U doesn't have much of a userbase and the fact that almost everything is guaranteed to flop aside from MK8, SMB4, as well as a few other maybe.  

The only way for the game to move itself is that it will also likely have to move the consoles as well in the WII Us current situation.


"Only" is a strong word. I think that the Wii U's situation will improve enough in the next two years for Donkey Kong Country to climb over one millions copies sold LT. Not because DKC will move systems, mind you, but because bigger franchises like Mario Kart and Smash Bros. will. Unless Wii U has been confirmed to be taken off the market later in 2014, I think Tropical Freeze has a very good shot.

It should be able to do 1m. Depending on the overall sales of the Wii U, maybe it won't do 2m.

It'll top 3mil lifetime. If NSMB can do it, than I'll be damned if Donkey Kong can't as well!

But seriously, It'll do 1mil easy, even with the Wii U's current install base. Actually, I'm expecting it to be between 1.5 and 2mil this holiday season.
