Standard but why are they one update away from making a gamepad (wiiU's only selling point from a hardware standpoint) optional again?

Just to be more consumer friendly giving options, not to mention the fans that hate the pad & prefer a pro controller (cheaper as well)

No, they're literally not. You are never going to see a Wii U SKU sans Gamepad. The second option in your poll is never going to happen.
The GamePad is just as user friendly and mass-appeal as the DS was/is. It's the exact same concept. There is nothing drastically different about it, just one screen is in your hands, the other is the TV, and the thing is a touch screen with a stylus. Literally the same. So I just don't see how/why some people seem to think that it is what is hurting Wii U.
Lack of big hit games, like Mario Kart, like Smash Bros., is what has hurt Wii U.
I wouldn't count out the "Pro Bundle" so easily, but it most likely won't happen.
