Fact 1 : 

Did you know that you have to go to jail or pay 5000 - 75 000 €  in Greece if you play a game ( yeah every game ; handhelds, mobiles...) in public ? 

"Greek Law Number 3037, enacted at the end of July, explicitly forbids electronic games with "electronic mechanisms and software" from public and private places, and people have already been fined tens of thousands of dollars for playing or owning games.

The law applies equally to visitors from abroad: "If you know these things are banned, you should not bring them in," said a commercial attach? at the Greek Embassy in London, who declined to give her name."

After the European Union intervention and debates with the Internet café owners, the government passed a new decision (1107414/1491/T. & E. F.), published in the Government Gazette issue 1827, on December 8, 2003. The new law clarifies some articles of 3037/2002 but it still bans video games in Internet cafés and computer software which deletes or encrypts files on hard disks of computers owned by Internet cafés.

Dayumn. I lived in Greece for about 10 years, played video games in public all the time and no one told me anything. I only got in trouble for bringing a psp in a military camp. After telling me how wrong that was and confiscating it, they then gave it back and asked me not to use it while I'm there.

Ridiculous law is ridiculous.

Wow what a stupid law. Can you imagine the conversations they are having in prison?

"Yeah I'm in here because I murdered 17 people, lit up 23 buildings and J-walked at least 175 times what are you in for?"
"Oh yeah they caught me playing Pokemon in the park."
