PS1 increased sales and profits dude, Sony just launched the console in Togo and Somalia, PS4 is burning money.

I thought the PS4 was sold at a loss but games and Plus subscriptions would make it profitable. I see what others are posting but historically, most console launches burn money. I'm gonna wait for something more concrete.

Obviously we have: More (PS3+Ps4) sold than last year. PS3 still sold at full price here over XMas, so less sales but more profit. PS4, with PS+ and games is profitable, too, fewer Vaios equaled less loss, relatively low r%D ccosts, so all in all a considerable increase in profits of the division.

Vaios is other division.

BTW PS4 is the first console from Sony to make the first Q post profit instead loss due the record breaking at launch.

You do realize that doesn't make sense. Ps+ is making it profitable and software maybe.

does it really matter if ps4 hardware itself sells for a couple bucks profit or loss?   the point is that the ps4 lauched and profits are up.  whether the hardware itself is profitable or profitable after 1 game sold the point is the ps4 is a profitable platform for sony.   this is a stark contrast compared to the ps3 which, as you so said, burned money.

And those increased PS+ and Software sales can't be attributed to the PS4?

So Sony didn't lose 1.1B? They earned 200m in profits?? Not bad at all if true.
