Forums - Sony - The Order 1886 will run at 1080p@30fps

Tagged games:

On PC this game would run at 1080p 60fps with higher settings. Welcome to the next gen. I'm an Xbox user but i said before what i said because i'm a little tired of resolution news.

Is there going to be a new for every game's resolution? Just launch the fucking game and shut up developers

30fps....and 50% more power.

At least i hope the gameplay is at least good.

Big difference between 720p and 1080p. Do you have a 1080p HDTV? And I'm not talking about a small size one.

The differences are very minor.

I've compared them both on 2 tv's.

Both tv's are 1080p. Only hardcore fans see what they want to see.

The differences are very minor even after being "50% stronger" as most claim.

Of course exclusives always look better and both will have them. I just find it funny how "the other side" seems to believe the ps4 is 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 times stronger than the xbox one. Thats how they portray it but it isn't reality.

The difference will become more noticeable as time goes on. We're already seeing games like Tomb Raider where the framerate is considerably lower and that was basically a last gen title with a fresh coat of paint. I wouldn't harp too much on the "50% power claim" when all of us are still waiting "for the truth to come out" and where exactly the "infinite power of the cloud" is.

Its not just the hardware that makes pretty games. You need good software. Optimizing plays an important role just as much as hardware. Microsoft is a software corporation and i have read in articles that the xbox one has better development tools and will get the best optimizations. I believe because its what microsoft does -- software. Games will only get better for both but i wont be surprised if we start seeing more games at 1080p @ 60fps on xbox one within a year. There are already like 7-8 that run at 1080p and 60fps on xbox one.

The cloud is already being used in some games but the first major game to use it is titan fall. We will see it next month.

It is but not as much as some users in here are claiming.

According to some users its a bigger disparity than Original Xbox and PS2. :-p

Why would the diference increase over time, rather than decreasing or just staying the same?

Also, I doubt we'll be seeing the infinite power of the cloud until the end of this gen. If it does exist at well.

As games become more complicated and demand more power the X1 will fall behind. More corners will need to be cut to achieve playability. At best things will stay the same but that still means a lot more games down the road with lower resolutions, framerate, or both on the X1. The only way it will decrease is if developers intentionally make both versions the exact same from here on out and do nothing to make use of the extra power. So far it looks like developers are more interested in pushing rather than settling.

Well in this case a "last gen title with fresh paint" would have more problems with XBox One's memory layout than with the flat PS4 memory layout. There really is no surprise here that TR on the XBox One is weaker than what could be expected.

The cloud is being used to run cannon fodder AI and simple commands to your titan when you're not in it. Convince me that can only happen with the cloud.

So your argument is that things will get better for the X1 rather than the other way around simply because Microsoft is a software company and you read certain articles.

But Tomb Raider isn't a last gen game with a fresh coat of paint. It is already "next gen" on PC, where it has better textures, tressFX, better models, better environment geometry, etc... Than anything found on the 360 and PS3. The Definition Edition for PS4 and XBO is just making that gap with the PC much  smaller, and in some aspects surpasses the PC version.

People saying it's just a last gen game with a fresh coat of paint don't grasp what makes a game "next gen" or not.

Tell me how it will be the opposite?

Are you a developer?

Do you code?

Do you know how optimization works?

Have you seen what the cloud can do? if so, what? if not then your point in invalid.

It is clear who does software better and it isn't sony. Sony does indeed know how to do hardware -- fact! It's what they do.

But wouldn't similar compromises have to be made on the ps4 as well when games reach that point?  After all, we're already seeing some compromises, and the gen just started.(BF4 900p, The Order 30fps). So wed be seeing 720p-900p/30-60fps as the norm on the ps4, and 540p to 720p/24-50fps on the One, leaving the gap the same, no?
