Nintendo buyout confirmed? Who knows.

New franchises have worked out well for Sega also you know. Yakuza, Love and Berry and Mushi King are all pretty big stuff in Japan.

Clearly not enough to pull them out of a nose-diving loss, though.

"I mean, c'mon, Viva Pinata, a game with massive marketing, didn't sell worth a damn to the "sophisticated" 360 audience, despite near-universal praise--is that a sign that 360 owners are a bunch of casual ignoramuses that can't get their heads around a 'gardening' sim? Of course not. So let's please stop trying to micro-analyze one game out of hundreds and using it as the poster child for why good, non-1st party, games can't sell on Wii. (Everyone frequenting this site knows this is nonsense, and yet some of you just can't let it go because it's the only scab you have left to pick at after all your other "Wii will phail1!!1" straw men arguments have been put to the torch.)" - exindguy on Boom Blocks

I cannot believe what I'm reading,as a longtime Nintendo fan whose first Sega console was the Dreamcast.and was blown away with it. I dare any of you folks who knock Sega to buy a Dreamcast(they are cheap) and then tell me they make bad games, because you won't. They have a long and rich history of making fun games and poured their heart and soul into the Dreamcast, and if you had tried it you would know what I mean.
When the general public had a choice between a true gaming machine(with over 200 fine games) or a DVD player with no good games, they choose the DVD player.
As far as to who should buy Sega,a couple of people have said Apple, which I agree with if they are serious about getting back into the console business, because Sega would be a good fit and they could have a ton of quality games for the launch.

Apple also has the money to properly promote the games, something Sega did not have when they launched the Dreamcast. Word of mouth was not enough to tell the gaming public about such treasures as PSO,Skies,GrandiaII,Shenmue,Samba,I could go on and on but anyone who has actually played the Games will attest to the quality.Apple will need lots of games from all of the genres and right now is a perfect time to pick up a game maker with a ton of IP's for cheap.

Dreamcast-18 years later "It's Still Thinking"

Now Nintendo! STRIKE!!

(going a different route then the rest) NOW NINTENDO! POUNCE!

Anyway Nintendo would have a lot to gain if they bought SEGA, they're good at making consoles, they have strong IPs that can be backed by Nintendos quality, and can revive some of Sonics credibility haha.

I see more similarities with Ratchet than Mario. Im looking at it through style rather than game play

@ Smash Brother- I may be mistaken, but it seems as if its Sammy's panchinko division that's caused the problem. Not Sega.

microsoft will buy buy buy i reckon

I reckon that will be thecase. I'd love to see Nintedno take Sonic of their hands. It would be nice for the franchise to not suck.

To be honest, I've always loved Sega, what they make is fargin gems.

However, lately all theyve been doing is stinking up the game industry with crap like Alien Syndrome.

Sega has lost it's steam, maybe a takeover is what they need.

We'll miss you George.

Well if it are good Japanese they prefer to die (let the company die) than being taken over..
