Seriously? This is so trollolicious.

I already did a prediction saying Wii U will be ahead Xbone in 2014 sales... they will be close and Xbone can be ahead but the battle will be close... both will be close to 10 million lifetime at the end of 2014.

Well, until we know for sure what their output is, rumors don't mean much to me.  That having been said, I've no idea what the Asian preorder numbers are like either.  Think how warmly they've received other home grown hardware in the past, and who knows this could be a fairly massive Asian launch for Sony.

Also, I doubt that the initial run of PS4's had any stock dedicated to the Asian launch, given how hard it's been for some to find the console on shelves in places they HAVE launched.  So it's likely that whatever they are reserving for the Asian launch, has been from what's been manufactured since launch.  Or do you think that's unlikely?

I'm not really sure how it works but I'd be very suprised if they kept PS4 units from selling over the holiday just so they could keep them for the Asian laucnh. What seems more likely to me is that they've started to save units from about this week of sales and onwards. They must be saving at least 50k per week that they produce, if not over 100k because Japan launch will be big. I guess we'll see their full production/sales once the PS4 has launched in all major areas. I think it will be at least 250k per week.

Wii in the same week did 251,288 with Japan.

169k without Japan.

PS4 and Wii are neck a neck the weekly sales... PS4 will hold a strong launch so the lifetime are huge.

I think you're going to see a dramatic dropoff of PS4 sales in February until it launches in Japan. Not to the point where it is doing bad, but I think that people who wanted one haven't been able to find one until recently.

Japan will really help their sales but within three months everybody who wants one in Japan will find one too.

It's just that when there's a line of people who want one but can't get one, every single console will sell out until that desire is satiated. Then it becomes a normal, week-to-week sales slog.

The Wii was selling out in stores everywhere you looked for one for over two years. Do you really think the PS4 will be like that? It's already not in NA/EU.

Just enjoy the solid PS4 sales as great sales; don't apply delusions to it that will only disappoint you in the long run.

My fellow Americans, are too stupid to realize that if you have regular wi-fi hotspots in your daily commute, you can make VoIP calls with a VITA, and never have to buy a cell phone again, while having tactile reponse in games, as well as the capacity to play any touch oriented IP.

what the hell happens with the vita in NA? lol.
i mean i didn't expect the ps4 synergy effect to lead in a massive spike or something, butthats ("but thats"... i like the idea of a hat for my butt.) just hilarious. can it become any worse? :D

Many stores have shoved Vita either off the shelf or into a small corner since the PS4 and X1 came out. At this point unless some sort of cultural phenomenon happens on PSV it is set firmly to niche status in NA.  I think it is possible for things to get worse for that platform in this region.

PS4 outsold XB1 and PS3 combined, 4000 more units and it would have outsold the Wii, ps3 and xb1 combined.
PS4 WW ratio compared to all 8th gen consoles are insane.

Good news everyone! Turns out both WiiU and Vita are actually up YOY!

PS3 and 360 are down MORE THAN 50% and 60%, respectively. I find that seriously hard to believe.

I guess this should silence the people who thought the 360/PS3 will have PS2 post PS3 launch numbers.

Sony really hit the sweet spot with the 400$ price point.

Wii dropped too.

The PS4 sales will increase in the next month with the games to come... it will have a slow moment close to E3 because it is the lowest weeks of the year in terms of sales but after August the sales will start to increase too.

The holidays 2014 will be huge for PS4... this shit will sell like hotcakes.
