Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft squashes rumors of a cheaper, all-digital Xbox One

Since when has MS "squashed" anything that is floating around in the internet. So far they haven't even squashed the notion of always on.

Also he totally quoting Kevin Butler.

same here^^^^^^^(about the girl in your sig)

I wish people would just stop talking everything a company says at face value. A denial does not mean a rumor is "squashed".

Lol I love that the article says major nelson started the rumor and not nktl.

all i'm saying is, there are dozens of cases of price-drop rumors being "squashed" only to have a price drop announced within a week.

...whether true or not, this rumor won't be squashed by anything MS can say.

This rumor is absolutely squashed lol. The only way the Xbox One will be 399 inside of the next year is if there is a kinectless bundle. I am surprised you guys seriously think a BD drive cost 100$ to where that would make them drop the price.

This thing was rumoured to come out this autumn, around the 1 year anniversary of the Xbox One's initial launch, so presumably they will have realised cost savings in other parts of the system by then.  We'll probably see price reductions or bundling on the standard Xbox One configuration by then anyway, so a BD-less version at $399.99 is believable by that time.
