Forums - Sony - Sony: “We Don’t Think the Vita’s Going to Sell as Well as PSP,” Unless There’s a Pleasant Surprise

What Western 1st party Vita titles are you looking forward to? If the current SCEE/SCEA lineup doesn't look like throwing the towel in....

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Put Infamous, a GTA game, exclusive Metal Gear, and a portable Skyrim game on Vita. Boom...SAVED.

they need to release ps vita tv or what ever it is called in western markets. there are a lot of people who would love to take advantage of the ps4 streaming feature. and there would be more potential buyers for vita games which results in more games developt which results in more ps vitas sold

So you say, but it seems to have worked with the 3DS. Also Vita games are not as costly to develop as PS3 and PS4.

The PS4 is also quite healthy, it doesnt need a full change of focus from all things Vita.It was/is in Sony's hands to change the situation of the Vita. As a customer, i have a right to not be happy with what they are doing and reflect it on my future purchases.

I am also not a charity.

You can do whatever you want, it's not going to change the fact that Sony will choose the path they deem the best financially. They have to play it safe right now - you can see that with the PS4 as well. They would probably act differently, if they could afford it.

To check the PS4 off as a success is premature imo. It just launched a few months ago and we have no clue how it will do in the long term. You can't afford to half-ass it when you're going up against a juggernaut like Microsoft - Sony has to give it their all. To divert attention from the PS4 in hopes of selling a few more Vitas is not worth the risk. They'd just end up with 2 failed platforms instead of 1.

Of course i can. But theres no denying that the Vita situation is damaging the Playstation brand.

And to be honest, theres no chance they will lose now. The X1 has no chance in europe and Japan. They just got lucky with Sony arrogance last cycle. Japanese games and european games will soon change to Playstation exclusivity aswell. The battle is always lost for Microsoft. Wether they realise it or not. The only way to fix it now would be to issue a dramatic price cut that places it cheaper than the PS4.

So yeah, in my opinion Sony has ample space to support the Vita.

Well no duh. In equally surprising news, Nintendo says the Wii U will not sell as much as the Wii.

This is good news for the PS4.

This means it's doing so well Sony feels it can shoot straight on the vita more or less.
