Forums - Nintendo - Luigi's Mansion HD to fill gap between DK & Mario Kart?

Nintendo consoles will always have droughts. Just accept it and buy a different console to supplement your gaming needs if it bothers you a lot.

Wii didn't have any "droughts" for the first 2-3 years, at least.

And while GC didn't have AS healthy a release schedule as Wii did, it's first couple years were a LOT more healthy than Wii U's, and it's third party support was actually fairly strong. So......................

If it was a HD remaster of both Luigi`s Mansion games, then it could be a pretty good offering.

Luigis mansion 1 single player + the online MP of Luigis mansion 2 HD U

AWESOME!

I always liked Luigi but I was never intersted in his games... weird.

Why do people even think that Luigi's Mansion HD is even a thing? Like it already came out on the 3ds not too long ago... If anything, Beyonatta 2 will fill the gap

It came out almost a year ago. Next Level Games has a secret Wii U project according to a few LinkedIn accounts. Porting a game could take under a year. It's still taking an enormous amount of faith. Personally I would prefer Bayonetta 1 like in March as a eShop title first with Bayonetta 2 in late May or June

I think Nintendo is trying to avoid releasing games during the "hot" releases of Sony/MS... I understand the thinking, but I kind of agree that March/April should have either a majorly popular VC game, or something that naturally attracts, at minimum, attention.

i hope they have a game in between DK and MK- these droughts are becoming unacceptable

I explained in the op why I think its real, it was rumored a few months ago and Iwata himself stated Year of Luigi would continue into 2014. Those two things combined make me believe its a strong possibility this game exists and if released in the time frame I predicted would be exaxtly one year since it was released on 3DS.

Wii U is severely lacking in 3rd party support so Nintendo needs to fill out the year with a steady release schedule, maybe an exclusive every 1.5 months or so. I could see the lineup looking like this

Early Jan-Wii Fit U retail version

Mid/late February-Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze

Late March/early April-Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon HD

Early/mid May-Mario Kart 8

Late June-Bayonetta 2

Early August-Hyrule Warriors

Mid September-Yarn Yoshi

Late October-X

Late November-Super Smash Bros Wii U

Maybe a couple extra games like 3rd Sonic exclusive and Mario Party/Paper Mario/Animal Crossing for the holidays

Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon is iconic, it would be an interesting thing to port it to WiiU, but only if it was the first two games.

I don't understand why people care if a game is exclusive or not as long as it's good. Wii U players should have gotten a tomb raider port. That game is is amazing.

I swear  I thought the same back when WiiU came out and there were rumors of a DeusEx port.  i was like wtf? Why not make a port of already some month old TombRaider (but even that would be LATE port)  instead of archaic DeusEx. Waste of time/money  especially when DeusEx was 5 bucks on steam back then.
