Amazon is showing that the Xbox 360 SKU's have been discontinued by the manufacturer. Given GDC starts today, what new SKU's (or I suppose new bundles could count on amazon as seperate products) do you think will be announced?

Or alternatively (and only post this opinion if you can back it up), does anyone think MS might be dropping support for the console?

I have a strange feeling that they're dropping the 360. I know it's impossible, but a feeling just hit me. The plans for the next xbox are well under way, and microsoft is going to screw up and pull a Sega. (Just a feeling)

I'm not sure, but they will be much, much more reliable. Who said there were a supply shortage? Ha ha ... I know MS was draining the channel to roll out this new SKUs. I just plan to sit back and watch the aftermath.

While I was a victim of the RROD, depending on the price, I *may* pick up another 360 and sell mine - having HDMI would really, really rock for my next big screen ...

No for heavens sake, microsoft is not going to even think about dropping support for the console. Maybe its the "shortages" they are experiencing.

Im hoping for a bigger hd console as the standard pro, across the board price cuts and a GeoW+Halo 3 pack-in alongside a separate Mass Effect PGR4 pack-in. An announcement clarifying that the new bundles have upgraded internals would be nice as well.

Amazon's current Xbox listings have already been discussed and dismissed.

They can't back it up. Anybody who thinks MS is pulling out would have to be incredibly ignorant. As of now they finally made a quarterly profit and have over a third of the marketshare as their console is second worldwide. Japan still doesn't care about them but they haven't lost Europe/Others yet (although with the ground Sony is making they will have to do something soon to hold onto it) and North America is still theirs as far as HD consoles (Sony won once after getting beat for months, way too early to declare 360 even 'in trouble' in NA).

Personally I still see Sony eventually passing up the 360 WW (not anytime this year mind you) but there is no logical reason to believe MS is pulling support anytime soon.

 No way. The 360 is doing better than the Xbox in all regions. They've still got tons of big games coming out and numerous price drops ahead of them. Their biggest problem this gen has been faulty hardware. But now that they finally seem to have that under control there's no reason to stop now.

New SKU much more likely then them pulling out..

 or they are just switching to their new chipsets, Jasper and Opus.

Opus will never be for sale and Jasper isn't suppose to come out till Fall.

 

Also I don't think they need to cancel SKU's for new chipsets.
