Why did they start to ESTIMATE sold through numbers in their financial reports all of a sudden? Weird.

So, the PS4 oustold the Xbox One by about 500 - 600k and Xbox 360 outsold the PS3 by about 200k. Got it.

We know PS4 outsold XOne by 1.2m. (4.2 - 3.0 = 1.2)

we don't know by how much ps4 or ps3 outshipped the xbone or x360. We know ps4+ps3 outshipped xbone+x360 by 400k. (7.8 - (3.9+3.5) = 0.4)

Everyone here is stating this as good, but what about the other? These two reports are completely different than each other, correct? One is projected while the other is Q3 2013 financials. Also, how could the PS4 be accounted for at all in this (Q3 2013) when it didn't release until Q4? Are those shipment figures, because I guess that would make sense.

There are two ways to look at it. One is objective and the other one is spread on VGC.

The Q was decent, but the outlook is terrible.
Sonys shares are down 5.5% in Europe already, let's see how New York reacts to these numbers in a couple of minutes.


It opened down but it's now up around 3%

That does not make any sense.

It happens. You order based on a forecast, expectation, sometimes they are wrong. It can also be because their stock levels for ps3 were too high and for x360 were too low at the begining of the quarter.
