The bad outlook is related to the PC business... I found in the documents.

Restructuring charges are expected to be approximately 70 billion yen for the Sony group (compared to 77.5 billion yen recorded in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2013), an increase of 20 billion yen from the October forecast, primarily in the MP&C segment. This amount will be recorded as an operating expense and is included in the above-mentioned forecast for operating income. The increase of 20 billion yen in the current fiscal year is due to the implementation of certain measures to mainly address Sony’s reforming of its PC and Television businesses, as announced today, February 6, 2014. Also, Sony expects to allocate a further 70 billion yen (approximate) in restructuring charges in the fiscal year ending March 31, 2015 in order to implement these measures, which are expected to result in annual fixed cost reductions of more than 100 billion yen (approximate) starting in the fiscal year ending March 31, 2016.

They expect to reduce the cost in more than $1 billion starting in FY15 with the cut of PC business.

Lots of write offs/impairment charges and an increased restructuring expense is the reason for the 'outlook'.

Basically Kaz is making some big moves While cutting the useless fat. This is needed for the long term health of the company

Good that they made a profit, although that forecasted loss is terrible.
If Sony doesn't fix their TV business though then they will never be able to do well. 

Panasonic also announced similar sized profits, so perhaps Japanese electronic companies will begin to do better from now on.

So the PS3 shipped 100k units more than the Xbox 360. The difference according to VGC is 500k for the same Q, right?

My numbers might be wrong though.

You are basically saying Sony lied with their 4.2mio number?

There is no magic way they could have sold through everything they made by Dec 31. Given the 7.8mio combined number, my estimates of a few weeks ago of 4.6mio PS4s manufactured (and consequently 3.2mio PS3s) seems to be correct. Which could also mean X360 and PS3 sell-through is roughly on par by end of 2013.
