I imagine this is just "news". It isn't good nor bad.

Oh, come on, sales2099, it's good news. Bigger place, more confortable. The only downside is that probably the devs will have to move to a new city.

If you put it that way, its bad since they probably have to leave their families behind, their spouses families included. I thought they were expanding was evened out by their personal displacement. Geez you guys are so selfish :P

They are moving like 6 miles across town...

not even,. like 4 miles.

good news overall, being able to expand and grow is always a good.

I doubt theyll change the name, even tough they wont be in Santa Monica anymore. I think this will be awesome, theyll have a bunch of indie studios working on the same place as tem as well this can onyl result in awesome games.

They already tweeted saying the name will remain the same.

Thanks jlmurph!

Sony Santa Monica leaving Santa Monica to expand.
I don't see how this is bad.

Maybe the name will change but I don't see why they should.

I want moar games and don't care about their families!!! Ok, just kidding. I believe devs will probably just move with their families to. Anyway, it's a bit of a pain. Did Santa Monica (the city) didn't had a adequate place for them to move? Or maybe LA just offered some fiscal advantages or cheap (or even free) location.

Great to have the talented indie developers together with a top AAA dev. Should be beneficial for everyone.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

What you are saying??? I'm pretty pissed at Sony by closing SSM.

That is an inventive thinking from them. Have some AAA teams, some indies, and maybe nurture there A or B teams as well.

It's great news as Santa Monica now have more room for expansion, resulting in more teams and hopefully more quality games.

Yay! Sony is back! No more need to sell buildings! Not only that but they are moving into brand new offices.
