I have both and Wii U also, I have to say I play the X1 more than ps4 at the moment. I like the controller better than DS4.

If I had to choose I would go with the X1, I like the UI.
As far as games go, neither of them have what I want at the moment, but Dead Rising 3 is pretty good.

Really? I mean, for now they do, but I don't think Halo/Ryse/Forza/Gears will be enough in 4-5 years. Maybe it's just me, but I like to think where my console will be 4-5 years ahead.

All evidence suggests that both console makers are working on close to the same (large) number of exclusives each, and the Xbox One has a headstart.

I'd argue that its pretty impossible to predict one having the better exlusives over the other in 5 years at this point...

...if you are budget conscience ps4 is the clear choice. $100 cheaper to buy and ps+ is the most affordable way to game on the market.

I have both Xbox one and PS4. I'm playing most on PS4.

PS4:
+better games (up to now, I think this could change with Sunset, Titanfall and Quantum for Xbox One)
+OS is more smooth
+multiplatform games are mostly better than on Xbox
+Voicecontroll works surprisingly good.
- Wifi chip is not as powerful as the Xbox and seems that a lot of people(like me) had to change to openDNS to have full speed.(this should not be necessary as it wasn't necessary on the PS3)
- Need more apps.
-Still no MP3, MP4, JPG and Avi support
- Personally I have a bug with Sony Music Unlimited. The PS4 turns off after approx 45minutes with an error and needs to check the HDD. Up to now only way to get around it is, to turn off the function of auto standby/off!
-DS4 battery needs to be improved

Xbox one:
+Xbox Live as from what I see is good
+Nice feature with HDMI input
+graphically improvement compared to Xbox360
+OS is more smooth compared to XBOX360.(but up to now not so smooth as PS4)
-Up to now no real games worth playing. (ok DR3 is really cool, but for the rest I'm not impressed)
-Personally I still have a problem with the Blu-Ray player as sometimes my games don't come out etc.
-Up to now no support from most european cable companies/setup boxes with Xbox one
-Xbox Live needed for online play.(I know Sony changed their policy on this, but still for most functions, apps and games it's still not needed to have ps+)
