Forums - Microsoft - Phil Spencer: Still have flagship games in development; "new IP critical"

Saw this over on NeoGaf:

Importance of new IP

Unannounced large scale games in development

On Gears of War and Black Tusk

On Sunset Overdrive

Quantum Break

I'll throw this one in on the house :P

That last tweet is an interesting tidbit.

Crackdown confirmed:

New IP is critical! Here is some Gears.

Not every thread needs a snyde sarcastic remark from you.  He very specifically says there is new games coming the same scale as gears, forza, fable, and halo.

I think we differ on the key points here.

It's just so hard to contain myself when it's about good ol' Phil.

I don't understand people, beside the end of last gen when was it that we saw MS with 0 new announcement at E3 3 months before....

beside QB, fable, gow now and halo 5.... they wouldn't have anything to say if they don't have new IPs... this would mean a presser that last 30 minutes....

I don't need rumors to know we'll have plenty to feed on... MS rarely talks about new stuff years before launch not like some other japanese hardware company.... yeah sure they could show a trailer of forza 6 or halo 7 but what's the point beside showing deceptive prerendered BS like others do ????

What a smart Alec you are.

Praise the One.

I'm disappointed that the stuff shown by Black Tusk ended up being just a tech piece... It looked promising. That being said, MS acquired a fan favourite franchise, and that's a big deal. There are many reasons why there are people who prefer the XBox over the competition, and if MS is smart about it, they'll keep those reasons for their platform only.

Great. I hope Microsoft gives me a reason to buy the Xbox One. So far only Dead Rising 3 ingests me. Quantum Break and D4 might sway me when released. I want a story based open world game.
