Forums - Movies & TV - Official Star Wars Episode VII HYPE Thread

Ok. I could not be more exicited about the direction they appear to be heading with this trilogy. I also think the spin-off movies have alot of promise, so much expanded universe material to draw from. Here is a recent article to get the ball rolling...

When I heard disney bought out Lucasfilms I had high hopes instantly as long as Jerry Bruckheimer was not involved (Pirates of Caribean in Space.... eh) I honestly feel JJ Abrams style while it definitly made Star Trek more fun, it also took away elements that the core base loved. His style is much more reminisant of episodes IV-VI than the old Star Trek franchise. I felt Episode I thru III were good movies in their own right but lacked the soul of the originals and I think JJ Abrams is a guy who might be able to recapture it.

Anyways, worst case scenario for me is the movie is just like Star Trek but in a Star Wars universe (which like I said would fit decently) best of course is he recaptures the souls of episodes IV thru VI (particulary IV and V) and finally brings Star Wars truly into the 21st century.
