Forums - Sales - Vgchatz numbers and my view

A few weeks ago when two big corporations microsoft and sony announced their sales numbers everybody started complaining that vgchartz should update their numbers. Same happens with NPD numbers. Its a given that neither NPD and vgchartz cant be precise. But still vgchartz is doing as awesome job.

Now why I am making a thread about it. Before I explain please put aside your fanboyism. Now a days we cant trust any gaming companies. They will make their own numbers and some doesnt know the difference between sold and shipped or does it for other purposes. So, I think vgchartz is doing a great job. I am not oiling vgchartz mods or this site. I am saying vgchartz isnt influenced by the numbers declared by these big corporations. So we can have a neutral view over the sales numbers.

Besides we have a great community. Thanks you guys. I dont comment often. But I do read them. I am kinda stalker. As for vgchartz number I believe in them.

Bump.

I'm sorry... I don't want to sound like a jerk. But really, I have no clue on the point you're trying to make.

1) Manufacturers know shipped vs sold... the problem is people don't understand when they say they sold xx units to customers that the "customers" are retailers. Thus we translate that to mean "shipped" and we instead view sold as to the end consumer.

2) VGC continuously updates their numbers due to plenty of factors including released info from manufacturers.

3) VGC, like NPD and other tracking firms, are estimations with a recognized amount of error. So no one is technically exact with the exception of the manufacturer's actual sold (translate as "shipped") to retailers figures in their financials.
