Maybe Watch Dogs will be the Wii U's big third party success story, accounting for more than %15 of the game's total sales on all platforms! It's success will prove to other publishers(looking at you, EA) that quality ports released on time actually can sell on Nintendo systems! It'll be the turning point for Nintendo third party support, and things'll only get better from here!!

I didn't think much of it, but the "no comment" from Ubi didn't sound too great, although they may have just not wanted to get caught up in rumors.

There are significant sunk costs of design, administration, etc that are incurred regardless of how many platforms you bring a game to.
Assuming this sells at least as well as AC on WiiU - you're looking at 100k - 300k in sales at the very least. That's a few extra million dollars to cover the residual cost of porting the game + some profit.
I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Yea...
Anywho I'm sure the original story gained traction becuase the publisher, Ubisoft, pulled a similar feat a year ago. So its something that is not uncommon, especially when it comes to the Wii U versions of 3rd party games (late announcements and delays). The news originated from Nintendo heavy sites and was picked up by a couple mainstream sites who contacted Ubisoft for comment. Now that the story has changed, im sure those mainstream sites will add an [update] section to their pieces and that's it.
The Wii U vocal minority will chaulk this up as another attempt to sabatoge Nintendo and the rest of the gaming community will not care because they know their version was never in jeopardy.
Gamestop US is soon to replace SKU's and/or put new SKU's of Watch Dogs for Wii U.
