Forums - Nintendo - hardware keys for WiiU released by hackers

It would seem people have been busy, hackers fail0verflow have released all but one of the hardware keys used in the WiiU publicly, what does this mean exactly?, well even without the one remaining key which they're still attempting to find, it is possible to execute kernel mode custom software on the wiiu,

To cut to the chase, piracy and homebrew are about to become a thing.

So, Mario Kart 8 will get custom tracks?? Coz thats what kept the MKW community going was its wealth of custom content, personally some of my fave tracks were fan made

I predict an short term increase in hardware sales but overall a decrease in software sales depending on how this pans out.

Hacking the Wii was so damn easy that it wasn't even funny. I'm not following that route with my Wii U though.

is this shit legal?

Looks like I'm gonna join in on the fun on trying to hack the WII U and see what's really in there once and for all to end the argument of it's power.

I wish people would just buy stuff and play with it.

Its never used for pure modding in a significant manner. Just used to steal.

unfortunately hacking will always be used to steal, which sucks because hacks also bring about some awesome stuff like Project M, Mario Kart CTWW and removing region lock
