ok so small back story i didnt like the battery life on the DS4 as i would get anywhere from 5-8 hours out of it depending on the game i played,  so i started to tinker with it, i first went to see if hte light can be removed and found out it can be desoldered but i screwed my controller up in the process, so i got another and tried to remove ribbon cable(cant use the usb port thus no charging this way)  i did however go to amazon and bought http://www.amazon.com/DualShock-Controller-Charging-Station-PlayStation-4/dp/B00ENFVJJO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1390202281&sr=8-1&keywords=ps4+charger which charges through the aux port and have found out by removing the ribbon cable going to the light and using that charger to charge the controller, i now get easy 8-12 hours out of the controller with no problems,  if you ever need the usb port again for syncing and such its only 4 small screws to put it back together.  Hope this helps anyone with the two issues i have had with the DS4 the reflection on my tv and the battery life.

So... You bought an extra DS4 and a charger station.. Doesn't that mean you could have just kept 1 spare controller always charged while playing with the other one eliminating your problem?

I think he means the controller, Dual Shock 4. Easy mistake to make though :)

i just put the broken one in the box and returned it to walmart, and i wanted the charging station anyhow due to my wife bitching about the wires hanging from the front of the system looking messy, also having the spare controller doesnt fix the glare on the plasma screen when playing at night, this easy fix does.  its literally 4 screws and a pull of a ribbon cable.  if i need the light bar for a game later on i take the 4 screws off and plug the cable back in, it could have only been easier if there was a switch or sony just allowed you to turn it off in the first place.

also i the PS4 controler is named DualShock 4 hence DS4

It is DS4 not PS4. DS4 is the controller to the PS4.

Seriously? Then why is PS4 not just called PlayStation4? Why do you call it PS4 and not PlayStation4? We used DS3 to denote the DualShock3 and so it follows that DS4 denotes DualShock4.
