Forums - Gaming - Xbox One Disc-Based DRM Issues Are Due To Suspended Play, Says Xbox Support

I thought he was playing one disc based game, then wanted to swap out to play another, but when he went to swap out the system told him to re-insert the disc for the first game rather than allow him to insert the disc for the second game.

Surely the guy wouldn't be so imbecilic to write an article about wanting to play a game without the disc being in the machine.

That was my interpretation at well, and it would explain Xbox' support twitter response. Because the previous game wasn't shut down, when he ejected the disc to put a new one in it flagged as trying to play a game without the disk in, because the previous game is still running. If he'd shut the game down and ejected the disk, he would have been fine.

Still, article definitely seems flamebait to me, I wouldn't put any trust on it.

Around the Network

You cannot swap discs. That is, you can't take one NBA2k14 disc and swap it with another and continue to play the game. Game discs include a license key that when installed the key is tied to the console. This is true on the Xbox 360 as well as the One. The difference is, that the Xbox One runs off the HDD. It can't run off the disc ever. So it runs into an error when the original installed disc isn't replaced.

people are not using the system the way they should.. None of that stuff ever happens to me ...

Praise the One.

This "article" is written in some of the worst fanboyish type of language I've ever seen "Anyway, if Xbox Support is to be trusted (and you'll have barter your trust with Microsoft like a fresh fish trusts that the prison shower guards will keep their buttocks from becoming a genital transportation route like the Mont Blanc Tunnel )" WTF is that, seriously it's like the writer has tourettes and doesn't check over his stuff before submitting it to the site.

I see what he is saying tho, the Xbox is just putting a game on hold basically when you come out of an App, so he is putting the games on hold, going back to the main Dashboard then putting another game in and trying to resume from the "disk channel" but the X1 is just trying to resume the suspended game which of course the idiot has taken out. His issue with Microsoft here could be sorted with some common sense or reading the manual.

I love how current he is too.... talking about Napster I mean... damn man... I know how he feels, I wasn't sure about the that shift over to Bronze tools and like there was so much false advertising put out by the people still making Stone Axes... was hard to know who to turn to!
