This is it you geniuses who can’t figure it out if it bothers you. If you dont want to then quit crying ffs. Grats to those who have.

That's like saying "Your new car's windshield keeps falling from the frame? Just use duct tape instead of complaining to the manufacturer you whiney little bitch."

lol

not quite that extreme, we are talking about a light that can be covered, let’s not blow it out of proportion.

I'm pretty sure the windhield holds pretty well with duct tape and it won't drain your gas tank faster. So it's actually less extreme than the shit Sony is pulling with this light.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Mine can be turned off, I took it apart and installed a switch to go between the positive lines and the pcb, with a flick of it, I turn it off.
It's actually very simple to do.

The lightbar has it's own pcb, you just sever the power line on the pcb running frm the rubbon, and bridge it with a push switch, make a tiny hole in the back of the controller and glue it in place.

Does the controller still function if you leave the light bar ribbon cable disconnected? Or does the ribbon supply connection to the USB charge port. I rather just remove it compeltly. Till this is nonsese Sony stops.

lightbar pcb ribbon powers both usb and light, if you cut it after 4 lines, along the flow of the lines however, you can plug in just one side of the ribbon and leave the remaining 4 pin wide section disconnected, usb would work but the lightbar would stay off.

I never even notice the light bar to be honest. I play in an all dark room normally and it still isnt noticeable. I think some people in this thread are just sitting way too close to their tvs...

No reflection issue, but I have noticed the overall life is shorter than DS3 is. I always have one DS4 charging while I play so can switch them out. Has not been a major issue yet, might be for long haul multi player though (Diablo III on PS4 for example).

It's annoying when playing on a projector. The blue light reflects on the screen screwing up black level. It's interfering with the darker levels in KZ SF, black is not black anymore but dark blue instead.
Since it's winter I simply stick the controller under a blanket, problem solved. If there's still no off option by the time it gets warm again, I'll put a piece of tape over it.

I have used it too as a flashlight occasionally.

I've not seen it reflecting in the tv in the living room, and the kids love it. So I won't sever any internal connections to get rid of it.

There are lights on the PS3 controller too. (The little red ones). I'm not sure if they use more or less power than the LEDs on the PS4 controller.

are you serious?  The PS3 controller has a super small  low power single LED (it has four of them yes but usually only 1 is active) how can the PS4 contoller light "monster" less power than that ?
