Review scores for the 7th gen might lend that belief but I don't personally think so, not even close. I'm glad to see reviewers tightening the screws a little bit at the beginning of the 8th gen, developers really should not be given a free pass to make the same drivel over and over again, the last five years have been more or less a creative vacuum.
