Forums - Gaming - Your main console just pulled a Dreamcast, now what?

Thats always a big plus for me. My main console is always Sony who have nothing 1st party that I buy a console for. So either my beloved (and unplayed for a year) WiiU would get the 3rd party love or I buy an XBO which finally gets Japans support to its full extent.

My main console was the Dreamcast back then. After that I bought the GC the reason was Resident Evil 4 was exclusive atleast a while.

Just stick with the Wii U Nintendo is definetly not giving up on it as this would damage their reputation they will stick with it and maybe never release another Homeconsole after that. I think that was their plan if the Wii would have failed.

I would get a PS4 because the exclusives are better and it gets the same third party support. The better exclusives make up for third party exclusives.

Hrm, if Nintendo actually stopped developing consoles, I'd probably just continue on my path of playing more and more older games. Eventually I'd get a PS4, but I'm in no rush. There are literally hundreds of good games from the past fifteen years that I still haven't had the chance to play, and most of them are cheaper to buy at this point as well. For me, it's been kind of a goldmine of gaming. I still love the more recent offerings, but when you're a poor college student, the price of each game you're buying becomes pretty relevant...

Hmm

Well, it wouldn't matter. Gaming has gone full Hollywood now. When Sega left, it signaled the end of core gaming. Sony and MS made sure that gaming was going to be about interactive movies and not games like Crazy Taxi, Ikaruga and House of the Dead etc. Now, it's just...wow.

Thank god for indies.

That's an overly convoluted way to ask "What's your second favorite console?".

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

If the Wii U pulls a Dreamcast I would go PC only. I would emulate the shit out of their older systems and go digital only.

"I've Underestimated the Horse Power from Mario Kart 8, I'll Never Doubt the WiiU's Engine Again"

When the ALMIGHTY SEGA Dreamcast met it's untimely demise, i got Gamecube/Xbox new, bought ps2 second hand.

Bought 360 & Wii new, again ps3 second hand (360 was primary console by far)

If the X1 stops been made........ same drill, WiiU new & ps4 second hand.

I already lost Sega and Dreamcast, if I lost Microsoft and Xbox as well I suppose I'd finally make the switch to PC as my primary platform. Nintendo lacks 3rd party support and has the weakest specs so it makes a poor primary platform and I have no interest in supporting Sony enough to make the Playstation my primary platform.

Why not go the second hand route like myself if you feel as strong as i do about not wanting to support sony?

To answer, id go PC. Wills till be using dat Microsoft OS that PC gamers don't seem to associate with :(

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.
