PES is harder to master then FIFA. Every hardcore soccer gamer will eventually play PES, because it's more rewarding once you get the hang of it.
In the past I'd say pro evo, but recently, because Fifa has picked up it's game gameplay wise, I have to give them kudos for that. Pro Evo hasn't done anything new for the past few games (I'm talking about Winning Eleven, which is upto 12 or 13 by now). Also, the fact that pro evo's been lazy about presentation puts me off a fair bit, I know that gameplay > graphics for this sort of game, but the fact that PES hasn't updated either significantly is just slack.
That's all going to change next year though, apparently PES 09 is a totally new game built from the ground up.
well i choose fifa. i would play pro evo in thee actually completed the game i.e get the fucking liscense to leagues teams etc.

360- 37 million Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak
PS3- 29 million Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut
