Forums - Nintendo - How to get into some Nintendo franchises?

I guess those suggestions will take up a good portion of my time already. I'll try to check all those games out (except Smash Bros., I already have it for my Wii, but forgot to say it). Thanks a lot for your input, guys.

Play Ocarina of Time on 3DS or on VC for Wii and boom you love Zelda

I'd give at least 3 different Zeldas a try:

1. One of the early non-linear Zeldas: (Legend of Zelda, Link to the Past. Link Between Worlds should probably be left until after Link to the Past)
2. One of the good 3D ones (Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker)
3. 1 or more of the "different" Zeldas. The more the better IMO (Majora's Mask, Adventure of Link)

F-Zero GX is/was amazing, Star Fox Assault IMO was a blast, Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword was good, Fire Emblem Awakening sounds great (only played the demo and it was cool), Xenoblade Chronicles is beast, and I hear The Legend of Zelda a Link Between Worlds is spectacular.

If you can, play Metroid Zero Mission. It's more modern than Super Metroid (and better in my opinion) and it's story is the beginning of the series. If that one doesn't hook you, Metroid may not be your thing.

The thing with Metroid games is that, unlike many games of the day, they don't hold your hand (for the most part). You're going to have to explore and remember and be creative with the tools they give you. If you don't have a short attention span, you should enjoy it.

If you want to get into Metroid, play Cave Story.
