12 of the 18 highest rated games of 2013 according to Metacritics 2013 round up are third party with another 4 from Nintendo and 2 from SCEA. But if you say so.

Doesn't make me want them.

EDIT: Plus naturally there's more because there's like a billion third party games coming out each year while first parties can only do so much. There's bopund to be more third parties that stick on metacritic. Plus this is now quite off-topic.

The thing is the world doesnt revolve around what you want. The fact is 12 of 18th highest rated games of 2013 ARE third party, whether you want them or not is irrelevant.

You didn't read my initial post did you?

Should do that, because then you'd know what this conversation was about, and you wouldn't need to resort to nonesense.

I'm not going to read this.

I'll probably won't believe a word anyway, and frankly I don't care in the slightest.Third parties mostly haven't been able to produce something good for generations now anyway, so as long as the specs fit Nintendo's needs and I get a mind-blowing Zelda (which will be a looker no matter the 'power') I'm happy.

Only one of us is resorting to nonsense.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

Nintendo could have spent 10 times the amount of money making the console more powerful, and still wouldnt have guaranteed 3rd party support, then they would be in the shit selling the console for huge losses. Nintendo make hardware for themselves, to sell their games on, to maximize as much profits as possible. They are a business not a charity, if 3rd parties want to make some money then start innovating, compensate for the lack of specs by coming up with cool gameplay ideas and utilization of the gamepad....you can have AAA games on weaker hardware you know, its not always about graphics and specs.

Well, I guess Nintendo is mostly to blame for bad/sloppy ports. Bad support. I would be pretty pissed if I couldn't get questions answered from the company if I am making a game on their console.

Nintendo doesn't have translators or english speaking personnel on site?

I understand why 3rd parties are giving it the cold shoulder, it's not worth it to make a game from scratch on a system where 3rd party titles don't fare well, and the only way to make a game great on the Wii U, is to make it from the ground up a Wii U game.

It saddens me to read stuff like this. And I hope Nintendo gets their stuff together. I still love my Wii U and will continue to support it 'til it dies. There's still some great games on the way, and some very spectacular looking ones.

I'm sure not all devs feel this way about the Wii U, and if sales improve don't be surprised to see the same people/devs singing a different tune.

So read, and of course, understand, what I actually said.

^^ Spelled it out for you.

Wasn't PS3 extremely hard to develop for, too? We see how that turned out.
It also seems like that guy never worked with Nintendo before, because, honestly, from what I've heard, that's how it always was with them. It's not a new problem. Whether that's a good thing or not is up to oneself to decide, I guess.

yes i remember ps3 having trouble running ps2/gamecube/xbox games, and of course ps3 couldn't run 360 games, same exact thing here.

I can see their train of thought and totally sympathize. I mean pretty much every developer dropped support for PS3 last gen.

A bunch of studio's didn't bother with the PS3 early on, but Sony put in a lot of effort to keep the support. And according to this news Nintendo doesn't even respond to their Emails correctly.

It's not about the power of the WiiU.

It's that the devenvironment and devsupport is... not exactly good. As far as i understand he's saying that it's a pain in the ass to code/port for the WiiU.

I find it interesting how some devs say Nintendo treated them amazingly and porting their game/s was easy and others (like these guys) say the opposite :P

5 of those 12 are alternate skus. DOTA 2 is one of the remaining and frankly Valve is the equivalent of a first party on PC. And then we can discount metacritic entirely due to metacritic giving bias to certain review sites not just because of their quality of their writing. And the overhype some reviewers do for some games ie GTA IV being the highest rated game of the generation but it isn't better than pretty much everything 95+ there and a lot of the 90+ games.
