I'm sure the trolls that live in the FAQS forums are livid. They seem to shit their pants every year, because Link/Zelda seems to win GF polls all the time. I haven't even played ALBW yet, but considering the other two games are a tad overrated by their fanbases, and that a top-down Zelda appeals to my old-school sensibilities, I'd probably have voted for it as well. Poor choices though, considering there were other 2013 games that could have made better candidates.

That's what it gets for being a multi-console effort in this era of insane fanboyism. That poll was probably screwed from the start to become a popularity contest instead of a respect for merit. A masterpiece, that breaks the self imposed barriers of gaming narrative and ensnares

the player with intelligent gameplay and brilliant A.I. Anyone wanting to tackle the

same themes will have to be compared to Naughty Dog's work in the future, and it won't

be pretty.
