Forums - Sony - PS4 was the best selling UK home console in 2013

PS4 doing amazing in the UK. :)

PlayStation 4 pipped Xbox 360 in the final week to become the UK’s best-selling home games console of 2013.

Sony’s new machine sold over 530,000 consoles in just five weeks, making it the fastest selling machine in UK history. It beat Xbox 360 to the No.1 home console position by just a couple of thousand units.

“We are delighted with the very strong sales of PS4 to date,” said PlayStation UK MD Fergal Gara.

“Since we unveiled the console, gamers have shown huge interest in the PS4. Our focus now is rebuilding stock levels so those have not been able to get a PS4 can finally experience the next-gen. I’d like to thank the gamers, our retail and publishing partners who played a big part in making this success possible.”

Really surprising. If Xbox loses UK they will lose the only stronghold they had in EU.

Yeah MS did really well with the 360 in the UK, they won't be happy at all with such a quick turnaround.

Alleluja!

Stonghold can be used as a descriptive word you know.

Like how? People on my floor at the office like strong coffee, but because we got a new colleague who likes Cappuccino we are losing the last stronghold of strong coffee?

Metaphors, how do they work?

I know how it works but ''stronghold'' when you are talking about sales of a game console in a country? Haha that's really pushing it.

Combining the word ''war'' with the word console is pushing it even more.
