It is a minority. 7mi people that have bought the nextgen are less than 2% of lastgen console market and less than 0.1% of global population. Steam has close to 70mi users that are ok with DRM, they can´t resell, lend their games. Netflix killed video renting and, together with Amazon, is killing disc based sales. I just fell in love with my kindle paperwhite, and I can´t do shit with the books I´ve bought besides read then anywhere any time as long I am logged to my Amazon account. PS: For more insights in how information is the matrick of value, not the midia in it´s inside, please check this book. Majority of steam sales are when there is sales so prices are cut. It's hard to argue with DRM when you are paying under $5 dollars on average per game. I'm at about €3 average per game. Never payed more than 20.
If there was a game version of netflix I'd used it. Watching a movie on netflix is nothing like buying a full priced game.
Books are completely different. Once again completely wrong.
