I got two Nintendo DS's free 2 years apart. The first one was part of a consumer panel thingy, along with a few nintendo games to review and stuff, it was that that made me like handheld gaming, the second again with consumer panels, but i told them i didnt have a DS already, so I got another free DS with MySims ! Im da boss!

My first DS, it was a metallic blue though. I couldn't find the right colour on the internet! I replayed Golden Sun and The Lost Age on it, (GBA games) first before getting Metroid: Prime Hunters, which had excellent multiplayer, as well as Mario Kart DS which I dominated in due to snaking everywhere.

I loved that damn thing! It broke and got a silver Phat instead, which then changed to a black slim after I traded it in. I till have it and now have a 3DSXL, silver/Black version. Sad day indeed!

First game on it was Metroid Hunters. Good times.

Now can someone answer if this thing outsold the PS2 or not?

I boasted the awesome Cobalt Blue DS lite in 08. Played mostly all main Pokemon games, from Pearl-White, and Black 2. Also had Kirby Mass Attack and a few minor games on it as well.

I'll always remember how I got my black DS lite back in 2006. I wished for one for christmas, and on christmas day, my father gave me Mario Kart DS. I thought "Yeah! I'll get a DS!", but as time passed on that day, I lost my hope and got mad at my father since he got me a game but no system to play it on. After I ran up to my room in anger, my father came in, smirking, and handed me a small, wooden casket. In it was a black DS lite, waiting to be played with. I was so angry and happy at the same time.

Needless to say, that DS lite has a special place in my heart, and even though it's far from fully operational now, I still own it.
I've had since upgraded to a DSi in 2009 (which was the first console I got on launch day) and, after that one broke down, to a 3DS at launch in 2011. In late 2012, I upgraded to the 3DS XL and have since sold my original 3DS for another DS lite, since that one has the GBA slot and no regional lockout (praise the lord for that).

Even though there'll be next to no games for this system anymore, I still discover "new" DS games frequently. I've probably bought more DS games than PS3 games this year. And there's still so much more I want to get, but I only have so much money.

DS lite all the way! I got it for Christmas the year they released that particular model, whenever that was, and started off with Pokemon Diamond. Lunar Knights and The World Ends with You followed soon after, and my library continues to grow to this day.
