Forums - Nintendo - Sad Day coming soon- February 28th, 2014 actual death of the Beloved Nintendo DS?

It was bound to happen, DS had a good run but it's time to let it go. I got the XL one so I got the pretty one. I played some of my favourite games of all time in that console.

I was lucky enough to get one at launch. Kept that beuty the whole gen. I even could have upgraded for free to a newer system but I refused.

Favorite game was Mario 64.

I started with the 3DS XL version which is not ugly.

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

Confession time: I never owned a DS until a few months ago.

I bought an original model for my kid sister and also one for my then-girlfriend, but never one for myself. I ended up playing on my sister's model since she didn't really seem interested. And then I continued to play my DS games on my 3DS. It was only late last year that I finally purchased one for myself, a refurbished DS lite from GameStop (with Zelda markings of course )

As far as its legacy goes, I think I would rank the DS as the best system of the 7th generation. It was innovative, fresh, different, and it supported dozens of great titles from so many different genres. Some of my favorites are Elite Beat Agents, New Super Mario Bros., Tetris DS, Mario Kart DS, Yoshi's Island DS, Phantom Hourglass, and Spirit Tracks.

First game I ever played on it was Ouendan! Truly a life-changing experience.
Westerns hmay know the ported version known as Elite Beat Agents.

I really want the Wii to hurry up and die. The DS not messing with 3DSs sells.

Had a DSLite for a month while on a business vacation. Only had NSMB with it. Sold it when I returned.

Years later I bought a couple DSi units for my kids. They had a bunch of games.

Now my daughter (7yr) has both of those DSi units to utilize for now. Both boys (10 and 11) have 3DS XLs as of last November. I'll get my daughter a 3DSXL this coming April for her birthday.

Still debating if I have time in my life to own a 3DSXL myself. Likely just keep stealing one of there's to play a specific game like Zelda when I want to. Its called Dad Tax. Same reason I take a bite from anything good their eating. :)

I have the fat old DS and never letting it go for it still plays my good old Castlevania GBA games. Re-playing Circle of the Moon atm.

What is there to be sad about? It's likely that no dedicated gaming device will ever sell that much again. It had an absolutely stellar run.

Have some time to kill? Read my shitty games blog. http://www.pixlbit.com/blogs/586/gigantor21

:D

lol I still have the DS fat though I did get the lite when it came out

DS had an awesome life and will always be remembered as the greatest little handheld that brought new and innovative ways to play games in
