Forums - Gaming - GameStop Plunges After Sony Unveils PlayStation Now Streaming Service

Darwinism.
All gaming retailers need to adapt or die. This will eventually go like the movie or music retailers;

I don't see a large overlap between PS Now and GS. This drop should have been for a different reason.

while the drop off very well could be for other reason..

...there's overlap.  psnow focuses on older games,.. for now.     this is just the first steps to the future of playstation.   7 years from now when you're asking yourself "where's the ps5 announcment?!?" gamestop will be screwed.

I better go to gamestop to pick up all the older games I wanted.. cause with digital licensing issues hitting these digital stores latter on it could get messy.. Fallout being pulled from gog.. Marvel games from PSN/LIve/Steam.. especially with streaming.. when they are gone you won't be able to play them.. its not like there is a digital copy left on your HD

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

I was just arguing with a bunch of people who said that this streaming service would not be used for current-gen. (ie. PS4)

Sounds like the market has other ideas to that.....not surprised in the least.

Unless PS4 games make the list on Playstation Now, gamestop will be fine...

Awesome!!! I really hate GameStop and their business practices and i hope they will go bankrupt!!! They always sells overpriced used games to customers who have not so much experience in videogames like parents instead of giving them a new game!!!
