This is a two-pronged question... What is your favorite platforming series? And since so many people will offer the obvious answers of Mario, Banjo, R&C, etc, there is a second part... What is your favorite obscure-to-somewhat-popular platforming game?

I'm writing an editorial and I've done a bunch of research on old platformers and I want to know what games you guys most fondly remember. Thanks!

My favourite is by far SMG.

As a "favourite obscure-to-somewhat-popular platforming game" I would pick Line Rider, I believe. That game EATS time.

Sure, if R&C games count, then 2D Metroid games do, too. What's your favorite platformer that isn't massively popular?

Thanks for the responses, guys. I was having a hell of a time remembering some of these old games and the more responses I get, the more in-depth I can go with this editorial.
