I personally liked the ending for The Last of Us, as the ambiguity leaves it up to the player to subjectively decide what happens to Joel and Ellie after the events of the game.

No, you didn't miss anything; it could have been hard to spot if you weren’t paying attention. It was in the very last seen he facial expression and the way she talk to Joel. Plus it was confirmed by ND.

I didn't like it either. It was a selfish ending for Joel and a sad one for Ellie imho. But I guess you can't make any sequels it ends the way Ellie wants.

That said, give me another game in the LoU universe before another Uncharted snoozefest please. And if they do it, I hope they up the backstory content. I liked the story of LoU fine, but to me the best writing was done on all the notes and little survivor stories you read about throughout the game.

I won't complain whatever ND does next.

I agree, I definitely don't want them to re enter that world. It was a fantastic game, but they should focus on new IP.

I actually want more Joel and Ellie, I'm attached to those characters and don't want just some random new people that will never be able to take their place, plus Joel was just starting to come out of his shell then the game ended, I need more!

Which, to me, perfectly fit the tone of the story.  I understand how this world made Joel who he was and why he thought so little of humanity and so much of Ellie (baby girl).  He is not a hero, he is just a flawed and scarred man.  If he had suddenly said "the greater good" it would have been completely in contrast to his past and his world view.  I respect Naughty Dog for making such a deeply troubled character feel so rich and real that even when I disagreed, I understood.
