Forums - Gaming Discussion - UK Software sales December 28th

So impressed @ PS4 software. Beating some of its PS3 counterparts.

Although I don't know if this says more of the PS3's weakness or the PS4's success! But it's likely a combination!

SONY can already start relying on the PS4 for software sales I think!

The one I find interesting from the chart is Rayman Legends. It comes in above Mario 3D World, despite not showing up on the 360 or PS3 top 40, and coming in 7th on the Vita top 10 (while even the top-selling Vita title, Tearaway, doesn't make it onto either the individual or collective charts), and coming in 9th on the Wii U chart. Just how close are the numbers that control the positions in the charts?

Is it possible that bundled games are included in these numbers as opposed to other trackers in Germany, France and other countries which don't? I have no idea, just asking.

I don't remember if NPD counts bundles as well, but for example there's sometimes a significant difference between Famitsu and Media Create numbers because of one of them including cards you buy at stores of digital versions of certain games.

You're looking at the full price chart for PS3 and 360.  On the budget chart Rayman is eighth and seventh respectively.

Ah, that explains that - Wii U and PSV don't have budget charts, so all are included on the main one.

I decided to have a look at the full-price chart for all formats, and notice that more Wii U titles show up; I notice that NSLU is outselling Tearaway.

Speak for yourself. You having bad taste in games does not mean all British do.

Some healthy numbers in there. Industry is doing good.

It's the Xmas rush...parents buying what they assume their kids want? Big-budget sequels!

Not so much different than the US charts, give or take a few Nintendo titles.

Is Nintendo really hated that much in the UK?
