Wouldn't work. Alot of shooters use L3 to initiate sprint. You cant take your thumb off of the stick to initiate sprint on the touchscreen then move back to the stick. As much as I hate using the back touch pad...

It could work.  Edit it in the options menu to allow R3 for sprint instead.

Sony could even allow for the ability to customize.  Allowing you to customize the four corners of the Vita as buttons or button combinations, and if you want to use any portion of the back touch pad.  The player could customize it as t hey see fit.  They don't even need to change the games button layout, just the Remote Play button layout.

I'm surprised they didn't make the R1, R2, R3, L1, L2, L3 mappings all customizable... left and right shoulders should be L2, R2 now...

Can't wait till the Ps Vita Go!

Idk tbh, The circle pad pro on the 3ds is not even popular and bearly any games even use it... I personally think it makes the system look ugly and on life support... If they do release something like that, please make the console look good too

I think the PS Vita needs a new peripheral for PS4 remote play. Think circle pad pro for the 3ds only much more handy. With the amount of advertising Sony has put into remote play with the PS4, I think a new add on is possible and is one that I would LOVE to see.

It would snap onto the ps vita and plug in via charging port. It would add L2/R2 triggers below the left and right shoulder buttons.

L3 and R3 would still be on the back touch pad, but relegated to the entire left half and right half of the touchpad (much like assassins creed IV does during remote play) which would make using them alot more convenient/accurate.

The peripheral would also add an extra 2-3 hours of battery life to the vita.

Please Sony make this happen! With remote play, I've been able to play with the PS4 all throughout my house and it's worked like a charm. Only thing is... I find shooters to be nearly unplayable. I would buy something like this in a heartbeat. Who's with me?

Updating my views.

I would still LOVE a peripheral that added true DS4 like triggers and made the shoulder buttons L1,R1. However, I was playing blacklight retribution via remote play and in the settings, I found a way to map R2 and L2 to the shoulder buttons instead. If games would offer mapping customization like this, everything would more than playable via remote play. Still, a peripheral would be bad ass.
