For Japanese numbers, we can just use Media Create - I suggest vgchartz just takes MC numbers are tweak them a bit.

They do this every year around the holidays. Then eventually they get posted but it's 2 weeks of data lumped together. Shame though, it's a new console launch time with it's first Christmas for PS4/X1, tons of hype and the chartz are.....fizzled..

I reckon it's software that slows down the numbers. They never publish hardware without at least having US software ready to go...well they have done once or twice but it's rare. I think they should give us hardware as soon as they have the numbers and follow with software later. After all software numbers are becoming increasingly meaningless with digital sales taking an ever increasing slice of the action.

I also think the 240-250k number this thuway character threw out in a tweet might have thrown vgc for a loop. I wouldn't be surprised if their usual data source gave them ~150k for w/e 14th dec, so having a lot more than that being reported from an allegedly reliable source is cause to re-evaluate things. If buying patterns have shifted significantly to say online retailers then vgc data modelling may not be accounting for that shift ajd this would lead to significant systematic error in the estimate
