Forums - Sony - Breaking! PS4 Digital Management = xb1 family share!

Wow guys, I just noticed that the PS4 digital rights management is actually the same as the family share program that Microsoft was hinting at bringing back to xb1 at some point.

This is the very same family share program that everyone here was saying was a game winner! I can't even believe that nobody has reported on this yet..... but I'm not surprised. Great playstation news tends to get stomped out rather quickly.

Anyway, if you liked the family share program that was once available on xbox1 before the 180, then get a ps4, it has the exact same DRM requirements, or lack thereof lol.

Game over xbox.

edit: this means you can install full digital games on any friends machine and play provided you are connected to psn. the drms just check who you are. its identical.

No. XBONE and PS4 have identical DRM policies now.

LOL Nice thread, you are now known as the "FUD Destroyer!" :)

Share the game with 10 different people? Don't think so.

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

@donferrari
no its true! all u have to do is be on psn and you can then share the game with that friend at his own house. Just another reason why ps+ is so valuable.

That is not what Family share was. With Family Share you could designate 10 people as family members and all of them could have access to your digital library. You always had access with your Xbox Live Id and they had access even if you weren't logged into their machine.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

I can guarantee you that it would have never worked like that.

It actually could, but only (1) person would be able to access a game at a time. It would work similar to a library.

Steam has something like this already. I think it is in beta.
