Seriously? Why?  Who would buy a console at Gamestop. Always the worst deals.  Only reason to ever go to a Gamestop is if you want a used game.

It's really hard to find. I am going through the tracker sites helping a friend out in finding one and everytime something shows up by the time we get there and place and order: "out of stock" . About a week ago there was this Toy R US killzone COD bundle, he added it to his cart and as he was getting ready to pay, his cart becomes empty again and no PS4. The other less interesting bundle knack + Marvel was still available for a few hours and eventuall sold out.

Its nonsense.  The pre-orders will have, or will be, going elsewhere.

 


I'm actually expecting Sony to produce more than that. Probably the ammount announced was a low estimative so they could report a bigger number in quarterly reports. They shipped almost 3M, but they will have the PS4 Japanese launch still on this FY and that figure would basically mean no stock for Japan after the west hollydays and that doesn't seems likely.

Kowen, did MS talked about their shipment numbers for the FY (I'm assuming it is similar to Sony since the stock until now looks pretty close, except by the way it's distributed worldwide)?

Anyway, I think that Sony and MS decision of going with less custom stuff on their consoles will allow both do manufacture massive stocks with low price. The APU tech on them will be used on next gen AMD APUs so the mass production will lower the price and the loss rate on CPUs pretty quickly.

Doesn't surprise me, I've seen Xbox Ones on the shelves at retailers several times in the last couple weeks, still haven't seen an actual PS4 in person anywhere except for the display kiosk at a Walmart and Gamestop.

Nobody with half a brain is sat in a waiting list when there is stock availbale readily in every city.

You only have to check the walmart store checker to know stock is available everywhere.

You are using stock restrained sales to determine demand ratios? :P

While 4:1 does seem off, it's not completely impossible. The X1 does have more stock in the US, so naturally it's waiting list will be shorter. Along with the PS4 having a higher demand (based on the rate it sells out every time units come in), we can guess it's at least around 1.5:1/2:1.
