I'm one of those who've committed to HD DVD.
Now, I will definitely get a PS3.
Can anyone please tell me when PS3's next SKU is coming out and how much it's going to be? Or should I get the 80G now?

Can't beat em, then join em.

Hope Sony doesn't let me down with PS3. Unlike most of you, I've had terrible history with Sony products. 2 T.Vs, 2 Stereo systems, 1 digital camera, 1 camcorder in last 13 years. They all broke in couple of years.

Now I'm hearing about PS3 problems in this site.

p.s. Well, actually Hd-DVD would be dead in 2005. IF not Microsoft, which decided to support it.
There wouldn`t be any format war, IF not Microsoft. So.. all credits to M$.
It`s sad for Hd-dvd player owners, but they were never meant to win. =)
M$ is all about digital distributing, it needed this format war just that there would no winner.

Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

 

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.

PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.
PS2 2001 vs PS3 2008 sales numbers =) + New games released in Japan by 2009 that passed 100k so far

 Their fault for choosing the wrong product, I knew the instant the PS3 was announced to have a Blu-ray drive  that blu-ray would win. There was no way HD DVD was going to win after that, stand alone players had no chance against a console + stand alone players.

 So in my mind, the people who have bought a HD DVD player since the PS3 launch were just flat out fools.
