I think about this alot actually, and I'm sure most of you have thought about it at least once or twice. The thought of being able to make a SSB or PSAS kind of game (which ever you prefer) and have access to every gaming character available to man!

If you could pick 20 gaming mascots accross any platform and any game who would you pick? My list would look something like this:

1. Mario
2. Sonic
3. Rayman
4. Crash
5. Sypro
6. Ratchet & Clank
7. Link
8. Jak & Daxter
9. Megaman
10. Cloud
11. Zidane
12. Master Chief
13. Pac Man
14. Nathen Drake
15. Snake
16. Zhao Yun
17. Duke Nukem
18. Earthworm Jim
19. Prinny
20. Sora

Thats how I know your awesome =D

1. Mario
2. Link
3. Samus
4. Donkey Kong
5. Pikachu
6. Crash
7. Spyro
8. Jak and Daxter
9. Ratchet and Clank
10. Nathan Drake
11. Master Cheif
12. Banjo and Kazooie
13. Conker
14. Jago
15. Joanna Dark
16. Mega Man
17. Sora
18. Ezio Auditore
19. Big Boss
20. Sonic

Kept it perfectly even with 5 for Nintendo, Sony, MS and 3rd parties.

Bonus 5 coz keeping 3rd Parties down to 5 was hard, we can call this DLC i guess

1. Chris Redfield
2. Chocobo and Moogle
3. Lara Croft
4. Jin
5. Ryu

Yep more bonuses =D this time 2 each for the big 3

1. Fox
2. Kirby
3. Kratos
4. Sackboy
5. Fable Protagonist
6. Marcus Fenix (left him until here because he isnt owned by MS)

Their, kept this to large noteworthy franchises coz i didnt want to fill the list with people nobody would know and would do zero to sell a game like this.

And I still probably mssed guys I wanted in there

Solid list :)

Snake
Spyro
Jak + Daxter
Crash Bandicoot
Leon S Kennedy
Pyramid Head
Heather Mason
Nemesis
Sir Daniel Fortesque
Samus
Mario
Sonic
Zidane
Thrall
LeChuck
The Nameless One
Ezio Auditore
Fawkes
Gordon Freeman
Volgin

I couldn't think of 20 mascots so I just used characters :|

1. Mario
2. Luigi
3. Donkey Kong.
4. Kirby Pac Man
5. Sonic
6. Miles "Tails" Prower
7. Crash Bandicoot
8. Sackboy
9. Banjo w/ Kazooie
10. Conker the Squirrel
11. S'plosion Man Ray Man
12. Mega Man
13. Ratchet w/ Clank
14. Jak w/ Daxter

and to break up this sausage fest,

15. Kameo
16. Amy Rose
17. Roll (from Mega Man)
18. Princess Peach
19. Shantae
20. Patricia Wagon (from Mighty Switch Force)

*edit* looking at other people's lists, I need more icons.  I'd dump Kirby for Pac-Man and 'Splosion Man for Rayman.  I'm trying to go with all cartoony art style.  I always disliked when a realistic Samus would clash with a cartoon Luigi or something.  I'm trying to keep the Nintendo guys to a minimum, too.  That's why Toon Link didn't make the cut.

Oh yeh I have a sausage fest :P
