This was a terrible idea. Sony is making the same mistake over and over again. They released Legend of Dragoon on PSX when everybody was lookig at PS2, they released Roque Galaxy on that console when everybody was hyping PS3 and now they relased GT 5.1 when everyone wants to have PS4 with some nice games.

Yeah right, because polyphony is well known for releasing games after one year of development.

Becauae GT6 on PS4 released in 2015 woundn't be a port.

That's why I'm saying the copy paste game. 
I believe there was a topic here that said GT7 could come next year.

Good decision.

1) Most people play GT with wheel... and you have a PS3 compatible device at home... so why exclude these guys that spent more than $500 on it? Sony still needs support wheels in PS4.

2) PS3 is selling yet and it needs more a GT game than PS4... PS4 is selling like hotcakes... so a GT game for now is useless.

3) You need to play GT6 on PS3... it is the best driving sim ever created.

About the poor sales I think the guys are overreacting... GT games are all about leg... just because GT5 was more frontloaded than the othes didn't make GT sales poor or bad... keep calm because the sales will surprise you yet.

I thing there was no better option for Sony and PD than GT on PS3.

BTW GT4 was launched in 2006 and until the last updade it was selling... so while exists a PS3 being produced GT6 will be selling.

Glad Sony supports old platforms.

And if you want a GT on PS4 just wait late 2014... It is coming in the right time.

GT6 will make money for them even if it isn't as much as expected but it surely wasn't a waste of time for them.

If rumors are true some people already could see a trailer of the Next Gran Turismo and im pretty sure they work on it for a little while now.
They have the strongest IP of Sony and surely were involved in the PS4 development as one of the earliest teams.
Didn't they say they want to hope for a maybe even 2014 Release of the Next Gen Gran Turismo?Maybe with how easy it is to develop for the PS4 and how much time they probably already invested in a PS4 GT we could be pretty close to get one.Maybe not 2014 but definitely no 5 years of waiting.

GT5 had time to get hyped, had good advertising, was released mid gen when game purchases were at their height. GT6 has had hardly any of these, not even a prologue.

Maybe what they should have done is released a Prologue on PS3 and the main game on PS4 later on. I do not however think releasing GT6 on PS3 was wrong. Sony is showing support for their console and the gamers on it, just because those gamers have yet to buy the game doesn't mean it won't sell a lot in the end. We have pre christmas week.

GT is for casuals, they won't buy a ps4 just to play it. 

PS4 is selling out, they didn't need a GT to do that. 

If it was a ps4 title I would've sold even worse (obvious) even in the long run.

At the time when Driveclub was still a 2013 game, imagin the sales of that game if gran turismo launched with it on the ps4.

So, GT6 on ps3 was and still is the best choice. End of discussion.
