Forums - Gaming - will grandia 4 ever come?

A new Grandia is almost next to impossible, since the creator of the series has died and the original team got disbanded. Even if a developer/publisher bought the IP, I highly doubt they would risk a new game approach, rather play it safe with remakes of older ones, probably handheld/moblie focused.

After Grandia 3 I sure hope not :^)

I thought it was a great game. Critics were to harsh. I enjoyed it very much. Not as much as 1, but thats okay.

Disc 2 caught me off guard so hard. Dropping 2 likeable characters so suddenly for 2 underdeveloped characters was a ballsy move that in my opinion didn't pay off.

I wouldnt go that far, as im sure that amongst the workers of Game Arts today there are surely fans of the Grandia series. Werent these same people the creators of Lunar? They made some Lunar games reletively recently, even though i think they were terrible.

Nah, the Game Arts team has only released Remakes and Enhanced Remakes of Lunar SSS in recent years. The NDS Lunar was made by a different team (marvelous interactive). There's no current word about making a new game in the series. That's why I don't see Game Arts touching Grandia again.

Nope. In the same way we don't get a new Wild ARMs or Breath of Fire (BOF 6 ISNT A THING). These mid-tier JRPG's just don't really think they can find a place in the market anymore (which is silly, seeing as Tales is doing so well).

Also, Game Arts is busy making Monster Hunter knockoffs like Nem says.

I would instantly buy ANY system (as in console, handheld or PC, not some Breath of Fire VI nonsense) that had either a remake or a new entry in the series. Easily my favorite JRPG series and Grandia II stands as one of my favorite games of all time.

I would happily settle for a spiritual successor that emulate the flawless combat system of Grandia, especially Grandia II.

Had never the chance to play Grandia 3, because it was never released in Europe :(

But People, we can look forward to Child of Light, it will have the same battle system and is from Ubi, too! :)

another IP that shall rest inside our nerd dreams alongside suikoden and wild arms.... so sad

That would be awesome. Grandia 1 was the first RPG that actually made me interested in the entire genre. I played the demo at least 50 times.

I am the Playstation Avenger.
