Microsoft smoked sony last gen when it came to exclusive racers.

If you like your racers, the was no better place to be than on a 360.

Forza 2, 3, 4 & Horizon, plus Project Gotham Racing 3 & 4 ALL scored higher than any GT, Supercar Challenge, Motorstorm etc.

Driving enthusiasts disagree, clearly. The reviewers simply do not represent the driving community. And why would they? I mean, driving sims are probably some of the least "gamey" games out there, so game reviewers should mostly not be fit to review them.

But alas, GT is a video game, available for a video game console, and is therefore bound to certain criteria.

Being more boring and grinding then Forza will reflect in its scores.

Um the sales show clearly many don't find it boring. Gt is about the drive, not the race. Some reviews/people don't get that. You saying it si more boring doesn't make it so.

Why is someone called sales so against an additional comparison using sales?

By all means, gloat that less than a hundred people came to the combined conclusion that one series is better on Metacritic, but at least show us how MILLIONS of other people have voted with money.

Because it makes his argument very inconvenient lol. Nice avatar :p.

Apologies. But the general point was that it is a video game, and it lacks things that make it a more fun video game, hence the lower metas.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

So now that GT6 is on 80% we are back on forza 3,4 comparison? I thought this thread was about the review score of GT6.

Some ppl....

Puggsly ol buddy it's not too late, GT6 might drop again and then you can change the title and OP back!

edit: just dropped to 80. Gogogo.

If the score gets real bad I'll change it back. :-p

No, I kid. I like this title better.

Same principle though. A car enthusiest probably still doesn't have the money to own most of the cars they drive in the game and will never drive them in their lifetime. Shooter gamers won't probably ever fire the guns they like in the game. Just saying your attempted deflection doesn't take away that you are using majority opinion as your be all, end all argument.

We know GT is arguably a slightly better sim, but Forza is a better overall package, hence its percieved better overall critical scores.

You simply can't say that anymore with the absence of content in Forza 5. GT6 has like 5 times the content, or more (tracks, cars). Add in that GT6 will allow you to create your own tracks in various ways and it gets worse

Not to mention the various weather effects, astronomy, moon driving etc.

You are right. I cant speak for F5. I am speaking about the 7th gen Forzas and GTs.

Lol. That's called back-pedaling.

Technically no since the thread title totally changed :P

more back pedaling lol.

Current PC build:

Asus Z97I-Plus, i5 4790K @ 4.6ghz, EVGA GTX 980 ACX 2.0 1377/1853/124%, Corsair Vengence Pro 2400mhz 2x 8192mb, Corsair RM850, Corsair H80i, 120GB OCZ Vertex 3 SSD, 750GB Seagate Momentus XT SSHD, 320GB Weston Digital HDD, Corsair 230T, Corsair K50 Raptor, HP XQ500AA mouse, Windows 10 Pro 64bit. iiyama Pro Lite G2773HS 120Hz 1Ms G2G gaming monitor.

Yeah the GT series really need to add more than just cars and tracks with every title. Yeah the selection of cars is unchallenged but its lack of proper damage to cars is really holding it back. I imagine we will get GT7 prologue will arrive next year, it will have 40 cars all with full damage and 6 tracks. then roll around 2015 we will have the full version with 100 premium cars that all take full damage and 1200 non premium cars with them all being up scales of the PS3 models.

They don't have enough man power to make every car look amazing which makes me think they should drop all the non premium cars and focus all there time on premiums only.

The fact remains, that since GT3, the GT series has seen a fairly steep decline in it's scores.

I'm not knocking GT for the sake of it, hell, i will go on record now and say that GT3 for me is better than ANY Forza (it narrowly beats Forza 3, but has the rest well beaten IMO)

But i think it's true what a lot of people have started to say, GT is still getting strong sales purely based on the MASSIVE following it got during it's ps1/ps2 heyday.

Hogwash, it is still thre best SIM on consoles......with a massive amount of content..

I keep saying this, but, once you race online virtually all complaints about GT's rigid career mode disappear. The handling, physics are just amazing and a joy to ride. Some just expect more high octane racing should stick to arcade racers.

Metacritic is a useless metric:

metacritic is a broken useless metric imo. Different games reviewed different times by different reviewers, with some arbitrary number score.....  Sorry if I don't put much stock into it.
