Red Ring of Death? Blame Krusty the Clown

Wow. It's more or less the common assumption that Microsoft skimped a bit on product testing before unleashing the Xbox 360 on the world. Anyone whose experienced the dreaded Red Ring of Death will tell you that. We have to admit though, we never realized that Microsoft had skimped this much. It seems Microsoft could have done a little more research before appointing their QA lead. See what we mean after the break.

Warning: it's suggested that only those with a sense of humor proceed past this point.

LOLOLOLOLOLZ, It's so true, go Krusty!!!

Microsoft knew of the 360's problems when they released it. They figured it was okay to sell people defective hardware with a 90 day warranty and assumed they could fix it later. They'd only be screwing their early adopters, who they don't care about.

Unfortunately, they haven't been able to fix the issue yet. And it has cost up to a billion in pure repair costs and significantly more in mind share. Fortunately for MS, expectations are already very low for their hardware/software.

That was funny.

People who continue to buy and support the ideology of having defective hardware as something that can be tolerated are the biggest clowns here. Hopefully they will learn from the people who support quality fine hardware as the Wii and PS3 which have a very low failure rate.

I'be heard that the reason the RROD problem wasn't caught before production was that a different solder was used on the boards in their testing lab.

Brilliant hardware testers they have then. They didn't pay attention on day one on school or something?
