I think about 2 weeks ago a forced advert pop up footer banner was introduced that works with Chrome on Android.
I have a Nexus 7 with KitKat and Chrome. Thing is, it's very invasive and almost impossible to touch the exit and it has become so unmanageble I have had to:
1. Try Firefox for Android to avoid the footer adver tpopups. This is not ideal as FF is not my preferred browser and is not as quick as Chrome.
2. Stop Java Script in Chrome in the Chrome settings. But that stops other JavaScript applets working like the VGChartz console sales bar graph. Also, on a Tablet one tends to view the site in landscape and that just allows the banner to take an even higher proportion of limited screen real estate.
Please consider disengaging these advert banner footer popups. Not very user friendly for Android users on Chrome. It's really quite unreasonable and annoying.
