Your first sentence discredits everything else that you have to say...because it is well known throughout the Vgchartz community that ethomaz is the biggest GT fan alive lol :-p

did ethomaz buy a car simply because of its GT counterpart? I think not.

WHOA....well I might take that back you have just taken the number one spot! lol But some good points my biggest gripe has always been the sound...if they fix that then they are good if you ask me!

The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of absence...

PSN: StlUzumaki23

Around the Network

10 million sold.

I don't think GT needs to change much to "become" relevant. It already is one of the best sellers.

My suggestions for GT7 would be

- Let me drive on the track with the other people waiting in the lobby, while an online race is in progress.
- 200 car endurance races on Nurburgring.
- Seasonal track changes, keep expanding on weather realism.
- VR support for in car view.
- Historic race tracks to go with the old race cars.
- Extensive track editor, track sharing.
- More rally tracks
- More tracks
- Even more tracks

There is still plenty room for improvement in track detail. Look at the extended ending movie in GT5, it will be a while before it looks like real life.

Campaign play in GT is probably the most important detail that they could improve. Currently, the system is just built around purchasing and collecting cars, which doesn't really have room to grow beyond that. It's not bad, but it has definitely gotten old. The same old cups and challenges feel empty when there are other racing games that are introducing RPG elements in their systems. Why can't GT make the game more 'human'? They could easily make the progression more about the driver and less about the cars. They could make winning races actually mean more than just collecting money and meaningless trophies. They could give players the chance to actually notice their improvement through a story wherein they get to race against rivals and make the race events meaningful and interesting.

At the moment, all you can do is collect cars. This needs to change so that GT can compete with the next generation of racers.

Anyway... I just typed this out due to the excitement and frustration I'm experiencing. All my support to Polyphony :) just sayin...

If it's optional to the normal way of progress then fine.
Personally I can't stand story crap in racers or RPG elements. It ruined the F1 series for me. Simple driver level to unlock more cars and races is fine, story, rivals, sponsors, discounts for sticking with the same car/manufacturer no thanks. Sandbox mode is the way to go for me.
