The Last of Us will win it, and it is a great game....But I have to say it. Assassin's Creed 4 is incredible. Unexpectedly, over the past few weeks it obliterates the many great games this year and deserves to win it.  I have no idea how they are going to possibly top it with future AC entries.  For the record, I did not like 3, Liberation, Brotherhood, or Revelations, but I loved 1 and 2.  4 is such a masterpiece and has so many fun aspects it is hard to describe it all.  I like it more than TLoU, Tomb raider, BS Infinite, Dragon's Crown, Fire Emblem, Dead Island Riptide, Resogun, NFS Rivals, Shadow Fall, and GTA5 which are all excellent games.  2013 had a ton of great games.  Funny part, I bought it as my 3rd game in a buy 2 get 1 on PS4 opening week, simply because it was based on pirates, and I probabaly would not have played it otherwise.

Well if it's based on the European release schedule it would be Persona 4 Golden without a doubt.

If not, Grand Theft Auto V, with Pokemon X/Y and The Last of Us right behind.

All of this plus Zelda and Fire Emblem. The Stanley Parable is easily my PC GOTY (and it was a decent year for PC exclusives, too).

Papers, Please is a great game though. Definitely better GOTY material than half the games on the list.

GTA V will win. TLOU will be runner up.

I personally played a lot of GTA V this year, so I think it deserves it. But then again I haven't played X/Y.

We'll just cut to the chase. It's going to be a three way dance between 3D World, The Last of Us, and GTAV.

TLOU deserve it the most but GTA V will win it.

Ayways, my GOTY is actually Tomb Raider, game was amazing. NO way that'll win, I expect it to be either The Last of us or GTAV.

are you talking VGX here? if so, it will likely be pretty difficult for TLOU to win with 3 polygon writers, and 1 xbox magazine writer on the voting panel.
So im leaning towards GTAV, but TLOU may still pull it out.

i think TLOU will win for most gaming media cites.
